Stopped in on our way back to the UP- was very very pleased with the entire dining experience. The bar tender was our waiter and was not only very pleasant to speak with but was timely with drinks and our order. My fish and chips were very well battered and fresh tasting. My wife had a chicken salad and it was as well very crisp.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. No wait to get a seat, think we got lucky. Anyway, I would only come here as a last resort. Only 2 people working a packed restaurant, food was decent but slightly over priced. Waitress had no idea what she was doing, she seemed overwhelmed or a new hire. Almost forgot, flies flying around everywhere! Yuck

Disgusting. That is the best adjective to describe this "Irish" "Pub". The staff was unprofessional, drunk, rude, and fighting amongst each other. The food was totally bland. The beer was totally flat. All of the customers were way over served and falling over themselves. It was impossible to tell who was staff & who was clientele. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.

Dropped in for lunch during Labor Day weekend. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my partner ordered the fish. The food was not good. The chicken was over cooked and they served it with a side of mayo that was warm and turning dark. Food poisoning waiting to happen in my mind. My partner said his fish was ok. The ambiance here is nice. It is a cool room with dark wood and a huge bar. It was clean and the waitress was attentive. If you are going to stop here, I would recommend stopping for a drink, not for food. Food was terrible.

We went in because the building looked cool and a little more upscale. However we were very disappointed. First, it was mid-afternoon and the place was very slow. However, the waitress did not even check on us once after she delivered the food. My food was overdone to the point of being burnt in spots. And the mashed potatoes were very dry. My wife's salad was good, however it was nothing to write home about and was way over-priced for what it was. Also, it was supposed to be a sweet onion salad and did not even have sweet onions on it. The only positive was that my beer was good and they seemed to have a good selection of beers.

The only thing that leads you to believe that this is supposed to be an Irish pub is the Guinness and Harp on tap, and the gratuitous amount of st pattys day themed Budweiser streamers and flags Ordered a draft beer, which was flat. Had to send it back. Ordered the Smoked Whitefish Dip and should have sent it back. Stale chips and a bowl of hot, white, flavorless "dip". The staff (save one very sweet server) had been drinking on the job, and a majority of the patrons had been over served. A very uncomfortable experience. We will not be back and I highly recommend trying another spot if you're in the mood for local flavor.

I realize it's the off-season and took that into consideration. Place was pretty empty, so service was good. Food - not so much. I ordered the half rotisserie chicken with baked potato and veggies. Nothing was what I would consider warm. Potato could have baked (or microwaved?) longer. Veggies were cold, so they must have been frozen and not heated up very long. Same with the chicken. It was tepid bordering on cold. The salmon was overcooked. Drinks were inconsistent. The atmosphere was nice. Too bad the food didn't live up to it. Pretty sure we won't be back. The restaurant appears to be connected to the Dixie Saloon where we had an equally bad meal a couple years ago. Perhaps they share the same kitchen?

The food was tasty but too simple for the high price. Our server was trying to be helpful but the meats were ready way before the sides and we were about halfway through them before the potatoes and vegetables came out. Those tasted good, after we added butter, salt, and pepper since they had no seasoning from the kitchen. The atmosphere were totally bar, noisy hard surfaces, local hangout feel. The booths had hard wood seats that truly discourage you from lingering. All this would have been fine if the bill had been half of what we paid. We won't be back.

tried this spot for dinner and kind of regretted it. Had the mile hile meatloaf which was actually pretty good, but not worth the price they had on it. The service was pretty pitiful though and that seemed to be affecting pretty much everyone there, and it was far from busy. i will not be returning and i would recommend trying another establishment while in Mackinaw.

Don't know where to begin.... The atmosphere is really cool and even though we had a less than stellar experience on our last visit two years ago we thought we would give it a try. Sadly this was the worst experience in all my years dining out. First our server seemed as though I was taking up his valuable time when I asked about the beer selection. My bottled beer came to me warm and without a glass....I did get one 5 minutes later. Our chicken tenders were actually "chicken white meat product" which were basically McDonald's Chicken Nuggets.....but at least at McDonald's you know what you are getting. Instead we got 4 mock tenders for $8.99. When my perch sandwich arrived it was missing the cole slaw I ordered and when I took a bite the bun broke in half it was so hard. The fish was ice cold. I asked to have it remade and I got a warmer sandwich 10 minutes later with no fries or cole slaw. After an additional 10 minutes I never got my fries or cole slaw and I asked our server for the check and to see a manager. Evidently the manager was too busy to come talk to me but they did take off my beer and 10%. Pretty bad all around. I will never be back and I will tell everyone I know about this incident.

I hope they just had an off day. This Irish pub had no Guinness, the only person serving and oparating the bar was so busy that I hardly dared to ask for her attention. Prices for drinks are not mentioned anywhere, not even on the drinks menu. I ordered the Texas burger with fries, medium rare. I got it with onion rings and more or less well done. All took quite long. Let's say, I left with food in my stomach, but had other expectations of my dinner when I chose this place.

While our waitress was nice, the food was seriously overpriced and I actually sent my meal back (which I've never done before in my life, I'm not an overly critical person) because it was overcooked and had very little actual taste. Only about half of our party enjoyed their food. Sodas and milk for $2.99 each? What a joke. An "irish" pub with very little irish food, blasting god-awful country music? I regret going here.

This was a nightmare. Decided to get dinner around 6:30-7. We expected to wait a while for dinner no problem as it was a busy weekend. We were put on a waiting list right away and seated at the bat for a drink while we waited. It seemed like we should have been seated long before we were.... 45 mins and customers who came in after us were seated before we were. Once seated at a DIRTY table we waited another 20 mins and still no waitress had come to check on us, get drinks or anything. I walked up to the bar and the waitress said there was a mix up who was taking care of us. That is no excuse. As I work in a busy restaurant, and have worked many of jobs in customer service this was pathetic. Would No Recommend dinning here

Boyfriend and I were craving fish and chips so we headed into O'reilly's. The food was a bit over priced but we defiantly didn't leave hungry! We both devoured our fish and chips enjoying every bite! The portions were pretty large and the staff was very nice. I would go back next time I'm in town for certain!

Thought we'd try this since we had a 10% discount from the hotel we stayed at.......should have went to the Dixie Saloon or the Keyhole Bar instead, which we've dined at & always had tasty food!! Saturday nite around 8pm, place was barely busy, ordered the Plate o Squid for an app, the Steak & Guiness Pie & 2 orders of the Chip's Favorite (12 oz ribeye). The calamari was "ok", acceptable for a pub style restaurant. The Steak & Guiness pie was fantastic! Super tender steak, onions & potatoes & the crust was yummy. Also, all 3 meals came w/ California style veggies, of which was obvious they weren't fresh, but the frozen kind. Now, here's the disappointment.....the 12 oz ribeyes were absolutely HORRIBLE. They were only "grilled" on ONE side (meaning there were grill marks on one side only), the requested doneness of medium rare & medium was WELL DONE on both steaks. Also, the ribeyes were about 1/2 inch thick. Kind of hard to cook a medium rare steak at that thickness, right?! We did tell our server, who was friendly, but could have been more attentive & expressed we realized it wasn't his fault, but please notify the cook. He came to take our bill & I asked if he told the cook, he said he did & gave us the reason for the over-doneness, which was believable, but not excusable. Especially since those steaks were priced at $23.99 each! We weren't given any monetary compensation off our bill, but the server was apologetic. My suggestion is if you decide to patron this establishment, stay away from the steaks, but try the Steak & Guiness pie. P.S. They have a HUGE selection of draught beer & ale if that's your thing.

So I returned on a Sunday. .. Service still great. .. Had rib and perch dinner. .. perch very good, ribs OK. .a lot of fat and little tough. .. DO NOT GET THE RED SKINS. .. Just boiled cut into pieces. ... No flavor. ... won't get them again. ..

Not bad. Service was a bit slow though. Half their menu wasn't available at the time because they had just opened for the season and hadn't gotten their shipment in yet. Ordered the rotisserie chicken. It was pretty amazing. Tender and juicy with just the right spices. It is pretty dark in there (it is a pub after all), so I'd recommend going during the day. It's a bit hard to see your food at night if you're in a booth. The prices were a bit steep as well.

Nothing Irish about this place, except Guinness. And the name, of course. We went next door.

2 orders of the fish and chips, 1 order of ribs and fish. Decent portions, fish ok nothing earth-shattering. Nice interior and pretty good service. A little pricey, but that's up north for ya.

O'reilys had bland food and not many healthy options for kids. The service was slow and the food really slow.

There were only 3 other tables seated, but the service was still extremely slow. I ordered the rotisserie chicken, and only ate a few bites. The chicken was dry and overly seasoned, the mashed potatoes were lukewarm and tasted like paste, and it was obvious that the vegetables were a frozen mix from a bag. My husband had the steak and Guinness pie, which was just okay. The food is way overpriced for what you get. We won't be back.

Avoid this place at all costs... Bugs flying everywhere, my burger over-cooked and cold (how does that happen?!) and dirty cups. I agree with other reviews that said to go to Key Hole instead.

Stopped in here. Stood for 5-10 minutes with servers walking by. Then was told they didn't have a table, it would be a while, so we should try next door instead of eating there. So I would recommend that no one eat here.

This was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant or bar. The waiter was rude and snobby. I cancelled my order and walked out.

Worst fish and chips ever. This is the sister restaurant to the saloon next door that should also be avoided. Spend your money at the Keyhole or Scalawags or even Darrows, but avoid this mess.

Food was terrible and over priced. But the bartender David was awesome and is what made us come back. Great service...good portions for drinks.

Only reason i don't give this place 0 stars is because it was a nice looking bar, the waitress was nice, and the gf said her sheperds pie was good. My meatloaf didn't taste like any i ever had before highly over spiced.

A run of the mill pub/sports bar, service was pretty slow. Food wasn't anything special, typical pub fare. They did have a nice selection of beers and it is in a good location. I guess they are owned by the same people who own the Dixie Saloon next door which is also physically connected to the pub. This may have been the reason the service was so poor, as they may have been stretching their staff thin between both establishments.
